Hey Alex, I was thinking that the HFS issue could be the problem, though I assumed that the PC software that I have called MacDrive 10 which is designed to write Mac compatible discs on a PC would handle that. Could it be the CD ROM format? I am using CD -R discs that I normally use on my PC. I know that older Macs used the CD +R format. I did try holding the C down but to no avail. If I put my original Mac OS 7.5.5 disc in the drive, it does boot so it has to be either the HFS or CD ROM type. I will try the free software you suggested to see if that works. I’ve got some experiments to run this morning so it might be later today before I can get to it.
Thanks!
David
